If you want to get an idea about what to pack in your suitcase, we suggest checking the weather forecast. Although Egyptian climate is generally pleasant all year round, it sounds logic to say that the clothes you need will vary depending on the time of year and whether at the destination you are visiting. Temperatures are milder at seaside destinations, while temperatures have much greater contrasts in inland areas. Normally it’s advisable not to rule out the idea of bringing warm clothes.
It is normal to be wearing casual clothing all over the country, while formal dress is usually wore to work and during evening occasions.
What to wear during winter
Depending on climate status; by winter you just need warm clothes in Cairo, while in Alexandria and similar destinations you can add a rain coat or umbrella. In desert destinations light clothes during the day, with a light jacket for evening, and scarf for the sand are all recommended. In Sinai, hiking boots, wind jackets are recommended.
What to wear during summer
During summer, light clothes, pants made of natural fibers (cotton, linen), a wide-brimmed hat, a light scarf, sunglasses, comfortable and breathable shoes are recommended. On sea side destinations, lightweight clothes, equipment for snorkeling, water shoes or rubber soled shoes are advisable to have.
