Age of Pyramid Builders

The age of Pyramid builders is considered a flourishing period in the history of ancient Egypt. Remarkable magnificent pyramids were built to house the corpses of kings and queens of the Old Kingdom. The architectural innovation was accompanied by an Idealistic School of art, featured in the royal sculpture as well as beautiful and precise carvings on walls of the tombs of the Nobles.

Both architecture and art reflect a long and uninterrupted period of economic prosperity and political stability, which faded during the First Intermediate Period: a long period of chaos and political division in the Egyptian lands.
