Overview of Mansoura

It is a relatively modern city, aging about 1000 years! Well.. this is Egypt, 1000 years is considered a modern city.

Mansoura National Museum

It was constructed by the Ayyubid dynasty, in the northern Delta, on the Damietta branch. The city was named The Victorious to commemorate the victory over the Crusaders, when King Louis IX was captured and prisoned at Bayt Ibn Luqman, which is now a museum. 

The New Mansoura 

Recently, a new project is ongoing, which aims to build a new city: The New Mansoura, 54 km away from the current city, along the coast line.

Mansoura is located in the northern Delta , on the Damietta branch of the Nile.
